The APMC, Mandi was established in the year 1984 under the H.P. Agriculture Produce Market Act, 1969 which has been repealed and called the H.P. Agricultural & Horticultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation)Act, 2005 to provide for improved regulation in marketing of Agricultural Produce, development of efficient marketing system, promotion of Agri-processing and agricultural export, establishment of proper administration of markets for agricultural produce in the State of H.P. The area of operation of APMC, Mandi has been notified as the entire District w.e.f. 25.2.1981. The Committee consists of 16 members out of which 6 are Ex-officio and 10 are Non-official members.

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Mandi has established 6 Nos. permanent Market Yards in the Notified Market Area of Mandi District.
